A Life of Art and Science Combined
Even before the start of Tengri’s Treasures in 2024, our founder, Laura had been combining her love of science, history and art for decades. Her interests has spanned a variety of different subjects. These include geology, archaeology, history, metalsmithing, lapidary arts, and even mathematics. Once she met her husband, and discovered that he had a talent for design, drawing, and a visual acuity that she could all but dream of, all bets were off.
But, as it was in many cases, bills and life got in the way of making the dream of Tengri’s Treasures a reality. It took nearly a decade of revision and refinement, a process that is still going on even today.
Generally speaking, Tengri’s Treasures is a business where the idea that art and science, and spirituality can be combined in a way that brings joy and wonder to the world around us, and the people that inhabit it.
The Collections
Each of our collections focus on a particular set of skills and artistry.
In our Fire and Forge Collection, you’ll find pieces that focus on forging, metalsmithing, and hammering techniques, specifically chasing and repousse. We deal mainly in copper at the moment, but depending on availability, silver and gold might be explored more in the future.
Our Stone and Bone Collection features some of the lapidary arts and bone art work that our founder, Laura has been doing for decades. While pieces in this collection can take a fair amount of time to complete, there is always something in production. She specializes in gemstone and hardstone carvings using both traditional and modern tools as the need dictates.
And finally our Art Collection is a place where we feature things that don’t quite fit in the other two sections, but we still have a blast creating them. These include anything from shadowbox artwork, to prints created from in house artists to the occasional mixed media artwork. The Next Horizon
As artists and a company, we are always looking to the next horizon, the next adventure. So our website is liable to change from time to time. Don’t fret though, our commitment to using quality materials, proven techniques, and always striving to spread the joy and wonder that we feel to the rest of the world will not change.
